WORK WEEK SCHEDULE

Monday- Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) The Position is eligible for a hybrid telework workweek




POSITION PURPOSE:

The Senior Administrator for Professional Learning Grants is responsible for managing the design process with the Advanced Teaching Roles (ATR) schools and the district design teams to ensure consistency. This position will collaborate closely with district leadership and offices to develop and provide support for staff members with ATR and will continuously monitor implementation, fidelity, and progress throughout the district.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Experience successfully leading and managing a team of adults to accomplish goals and overcome barriers necessary for positive organizational change

  • Experience in managing multiple projects, including adapting to evolving projects 

  • Experience in researching, collecting, analyzing, and preparing data and generating related reports

  • Experience in analyzing problems and recommending effective solutions

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in electronic media.

  • Experience in engaging a variety of stakeholders to listen to concerns and gain support 

  • Experience in applying employment standards and procedures, federal and state rules, and district policies

  • Have a record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and clients

  • Experience working effectively with a wide variety of people interpersonally and in groups, as a leader and teammate

  • Understanding of K-12 curriculum, instructional programs, teaching methodologies, and best practices that produce high-yield results.

  • Skilled in coaching, providing feedback, training, and performance evaluation.

  • Expertise in instructional leadership and professional development for adult learners.

  • Knowledge of strategic planning and project management protocols.

  • Proficiency in computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently carry out duties within established timeframes.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in education or a related field;

  • Successful experience as a building-level school administrator or equivalent experience;

  • Five years of K-12 teaching experience with evidence of high-progress student outcomes; and

  • Demonstrated leading professional learning with adults.



CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License;

  • North Carolina (NC) or eligibility for NC teacher/administrator certification.

  • Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with school-based coaching

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of advanced teacher role programs and opportunities for educators.

  2. Manages the recruitment and hiring process for advanced teaching roles. 

  3. Analyzes data on teacher evaluations and student performance to assess the effectiveness of the role.

  4. Ensures alignment and fidelity of advanced teacher roles as a strategy to support school improvement plans.

  5. Develops, manages, and/or adjusts school staffing plans in accordance with district and state guidelines.

  6. Assists in maintaining the program budget.

  7. Ensures district compliance with state legislative decisions regarding advanced teacher roles.

  8. Advocates at local and state levels for the continuation and expansion of advanced teacher roles.

  9. Leads and coordinates differentiated professional learning experiences for principals and advanced teacher role educators.

  10. Builds instructional leadership capacity in advanced teacher role educators in areas such as instruction, data-driven decision-making, school/classroom culture, and observation/feedback practices.

  11. Supports principals by providing feedback related to the instructional capacity of their leadership teams.

  12. Provides district and state leadership with critical information related to the monitoring and continuous improvement of the advanced teacher role program.

  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.



WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work requires driving automotive equipment. A considerable amount of travel is required to schools, central service offices, and other locations within Wake County.
