WORK WEEK SCHEDULE
- Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends)
- 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Position is NOT available for a Hybrid Telework workweek
POSITION PURPOSE:
Supports Wake County Public School System’s (WCPSS) professional learning facilitators, meeting participants, and staff with audiovisual (A/V) needs. Responsible for OPL’s electronic room reservation process. Ensures all OPL rooms are arranged appropriately, the cleanliness of each, navigation of professional learning facilities, and information regarding district resources in order to ensure that professional learning experiences are successful and high quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps;
- Knowledge of practices, procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures in A/V systems and support;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Effective time management skills;
- Ability to effectively function within a team environment;
- Ability to work independently without close supervision;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with central services, administrators,
School-based staff. and other stakeholders.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Experience troubleshooting A/V equipment;
- Successful experience in a customer service field.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the set-up (tables and chairs) and reset of meeting rooms and spaces by ensuring the areas are clean, the requested A/V system is set up, and walls are either pulled or opened.
- Maintains and troubleshoots technology-related items for trainings (e.g., A/V systems, laptop computers, televisions, etc. in training rooms.
- Supports WCPSS staff with facility navigation.
- Inventories manages, and supplies professional learning resources (e.g., laptop cart computers, high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cords, laptop cords, mobile wireless sound system, remote clickers, batteries, supply caddies, etc.
- Coordinates the scheduling of room requests for professional learning for all OPL sites via the electronic room reservation platform; creates daily room assignment visuals.
- Assists with reviewing and approving external credit requests utilizing the designated professional learning platform.
- Serves as a liaison with WCPSS custodial services (e.g., temperature, trash disposal, etc.)
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff and staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered medium work, requiring the exertion of up to fifty pounds of force. The work requires driving automotive equipment
