POSITION PURPOSE:
Performs work associated with improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel; Google Apps;
Considerable knowledge of facility maintenance planning and scheduling functions in a facilities environment;
Considerable knowledge of facility maintenance procedures and systems;
Considerable knowledge establishing scope of work and estimating labor, material, parts, and other requirements for planned work packages;
Considerable knowledge and understanding of preventive maintenance;
Considerable knowledge of Computerized Asset Management System(CAMS) software applications;
Excellent customer service skills;
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills;
Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Ability to work independently and complete tasks in the absence of clear direction;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Three years of experience related to planning and scheduling work teams.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using IBM MAXIMO Asset Management Applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs work associated with improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access.
Provides long range planning to include the regular analysis of work backlog compared to available resources to ensure the two variables are kept in balance in order to sustain a proactive maintenance environment.
Performs job planning which details and phases job requirements to describe the best way to perform the job, determine and sequence the job by specific and logical steps, and determine resource requirements.
Coordinates the process of allocating resources required for specific jobs to include sourcing, obtaining bids, establishing delivery dates, processing purchase requests, monitoring and expediting materials/parts delivery, determining estimated completion dates, and determining which resources can be applied to maximize performance.
Serves as a liaison between maintenance and other departments to provide work order coordination, weekly planning meetings, scheduling preventive maintenance, assisting with job assignments if required, and scheduling follow-up/job close out.
Performs administrative responsibilities that include custodianship of CAMS, maintenance of essential records and files, interpretation and provision of historical equipment cost information for budget preparation, tracking, and analysis of cost trends and recommendation for continual process improvement.
Ensures the accuracy of system data to include assets, locations, and work order details.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment. This role is frequently exposed to hazardous materials, gases, and chemicals, and inclement weather conditions. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, external agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment.
