WORK WEEK SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is available for a Hybrid Telework workweek 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Supports the development and implementation of the district's employee performance management program. Serves as the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) district contact for the North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) and the online platform tool for data storage. Responsible for co-managing district usage of the program to ensure evaluations are completed according to deadlines set while providing support to district users. In collaboration, develops and delivers training to administrators on the use of NCEES.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Extensive knowledge of NCEES and the overall evaluation process for all staff;

  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;

  • Excellent customer service skills;

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;

  • Ability to lead and motivate staff;

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people, personalities, and situations;

  • Ability to assess program needs and develop short-term and long-term goals and plans;

  • Ability to design and deliver professional development to adult learners;

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, and the community.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university;

  • Completion of NCEES training;

  • Five years of experience in coaching and mentoring school staff to support improved instruction, culture, and overall school outcomes.

 

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in school administration or curriculum and supervision;

  • Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a principal or assistant principal.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborates with district leaders, state agency leaders, and school building leaders in the implementation and use of the NCEES evaluation tool.

  2. Co-manages and updates district usage of the NCEES online platform tool to ensure the accuracy of evaluation assignment and user groups; including monitoring organization charts to ensure appropriate evaluators are assigned to professional staff.

  3. Co-designs and delivers professional development and training to district leadership in the use of NCEES.

  4. Communicates regularly with district users via email and telephone; creates and sends district wide emails and other instructional documents related to NCEES for use by teachers and administrators.

  5. Coordinates and provides support with evaluation of classified staff and administrators.

  6. Facilitates the distribution of certified contracts.

  7. Provides district evaluation reports to school system leadership.

  8. Attends state and district meetings to stay abreast of evaluation policy or procedure changes and disseminates relevant information to end users. Monitors North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) legislative updates and state policy changes that impact evaluation procedures and tools.

  9. Supports and aligns resources to support programs and initiatives the Human Resources department.

  10. Attends and participates in human resources staff meetings, professional development, WCPSS recruitment events, and other school system functions, as appropriate.

  11. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment.
