POSITION PURPOSE:
Processes stipends for Exceptional Children (EC) Transportation families, ensuring accurate and timely submission of all required forms. Responds to inquiries from employees, administrators, and other departments regarding stipend matters. Maintains thorough documentation of stipend records and compiles, analyzes, and reports data, as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, and Excel, Power Point; Google Apps;
Excellent personal computer skills to include performing data entry and calculations;
Excellent customer service skills;
Effective time management skills;
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail;
Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks with deadlines including all applicable departmental and payroll deadlines;
Ability to work independently, complete tasks, and exercise independent judgement in the absence of clear directives;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, attorneys, parents, and the public.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Three years of experience in a business field.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in business administration or equivalent;
Experience working in payroll, auditing, data analysis, or business reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes documents and forms for Transportation stipend families, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all stipend-related paperwork.
Ensures complete and accurate data capture and reporting; builds reports and tracks information using Microsoft Office specifically for stipend processing.
Performs a variety of general office duties to support the activities of the Transportation department including receiving telephone calls, maintaining and updating records, preparing documents, and providing effective customer service.
Attends and participates in team meetings and activities.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
