POSITION PURPOSE:
Performs general office duties to support the activities of a school or office including receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors, processing incoming and outgoing mail, assisting other staff, responding to requests for information, maintaining and updating records, and preparing documents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and processes;
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;
Excellent customer service skills;
Effective time management skills;
Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, vendors, and the community.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a clerical related field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of general office duties to support the activities of a school or office, including receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors, processing incoming and outgoing mail, assisting other staff, responding to requests for information, maintaining and updating records, and preparing documents.
Administers medication to students according to policies and procedures; maintains an organized health room including ordering health supplies and providing first aid treatment to students, as needed.
Notifies employees of visitors, mail, or other materials waiting in a central location.
Assists administrators and other staff with typing and word processing tasks.
Maintains routine office files and records relating to student records and/or instructional materials.
Supervises and responds to the needs of students and makes contact with parents and guardians, as needed.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in a professional office and school environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff students, parents, external agencies, vendors, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
