Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is available for a Hybrid Telework workweek
POSITION PURPOSE:
Coordinates activities related to the creation and maintenance of course codes for K-12 schools in Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). Works collaboratively across departments to maintain course codes and enrollments for 6-12 WCPSS classes, community college courses, CTE courses, and College and Career Promise. Maintains the high school and middle school program planning guides and other specialized course codes across the district. Supports and manages NCVPS course enrollment processes, including blended learning courses for high school OCS students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel; Google Apps;
Effective time management skills;
Ability to organize and prioritize workload for self and others;
Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision;
Ability to use a computer-based Student Information application;
Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and good judgment in matters of district policies and procedures;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system employees and vendors.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree from an accredited college or university;
Experience with scheduling and establishing course codes in the student information system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with various central office departments to evaluate their course code needs and gathers requirements for data integration.
Assists in planning and scheduling resources, as needed.
Stays abreast of project progress and ensures that deadlines are met or revised, as appropriate.
Ensures acceptable level of customer satisfaction and uses feedback to help improve relationships and work processes.
Works with Student Information System scheduling at the district and school level.
NCVPS scheduling and data management.
Updates and maintains the high school planning guide.
Updates and maintains the middle school planning guide.
Problem solves issues with student scheduling with student information system administrators, school leaders and NCVPS.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in an office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work occasionally requires driving automotive equipment.
